Though, the font may have been embedded only partially in the PDF file making it less than useful for editing. Anyway Acrobat can edit the PDF with embedded fonts.

WebSep 12, 2015 · Problem: Barcode fonts would print to the printer, but would not embed in PDF. I tried reinstalling the fonts and the PDF creator, and upgrading Adobe Reader.
